Woodpecker Textile Sculpture

ONE OF A KIND TEXTILE ART SCULPTURE

This striking Great Spotted Woodpecker stands 37cm tall (including base)

Like every bird sculpture I create, he is made entirely by hand, using vintage and pre-loved fabrics.

Fabric and thread are painstakingly cut, manipulated and layered to form feathers, then stitched into place. Detail is added with tiny hand stitches.

The legs are formed from wire covered in fabric and yarn and the beak is modelled from polymer clay.

This piece took many hours to make and is unique due to the nature of the materials used. I make similar birds, but no two are ever exactly the same. Each has its own personality.

This is not a toy and should not be made accessible to children or pets.
